The sculpture has been given the name “Open Sesame”.

Jørgen Hansen makes new firingsculpture i Århus, Denmark, from 9th of June until the 21th of June. In front of the new Herredsvang Culturehouse Jørgen Hansen will build a firingsculpture out of 5 ton of clay together with 7 helpers from Denmark and other countries. The event will take place on Torvet, Kappelvænget 2, which is surrounded by Herredsvang Kulturhus, Fakta, Centerbageriet and the Café. 

After the 24 hour firing on the site the glowing sculpture is devailed in front of the audience in the night of the 21th of June around 22pm.  

Herredsvang is situated between Hasle and the Skejby Hospital and has around 5000 inhabitants. 50% are from other countries and 60 different languages are spoken. 

The projekt is commisioned by Culturehouse Herredsvang, Kappelvænget 2, 8210 Århus V and the sculpture is later to stand in two parts at two different locations inside the Culture House.
